Demo courses

Here are some samples of VGU courses. You will find various instruction modes as used in the courses of SBI. Click on any of the icons on the left and enter a demo lecture or get an explanation of how that type of course is done.

Short instructions for watching the demo lectures

All SBI courses (including demo courses) use WebCT, a popular e-learning platform, for making course materials available to students and for communication between students and teachers. Since WebCT is password protected, please login with username "demo" and password "demo-vgu".

Course materials include course and instructor information (syllabus and staff), calendar, schedule, and course modules. To reach the schedule and the modules of a demo course please click the "Schedule/Modules" icon on the course home page. Each module may consist of a lesson, an exercise, the solution to the exercise, additional literature, a self-test, materials for download, etc. Please note that only one module of each demo course has been made available in parts. This module is the one with icon number 1, if there are more modules listed.

The normal flow of a course is that one module per week is taught, following a strict weekly rhythm throughout the semester (appr. 15 weeks). The same applies to exercises and assignments. Student solutions are usually due after one week, before the next module starts.

MBI program

The MBI program is delivered through a cooperation between VGU and the European University Viadrina.

The MBI program was initially developed in English under a grant by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research in the program "New media in education". Starting in summer semester 2010, the MBI program can be studied as a German language program as well.
